Jens Masimov
In late august 2022, Jens Masimov spent two weeks at Danielsgården, a farmhouse built in the early 1700s located in Bingsjö, Dalarna. During the residency, Masimov walked in the forests surrounding the house picking and gathering blueberries. The result being 40 liters of berries, which he then transported to Stockholm, where they were crushed, fermented and bottled.
«Bingsjö Spacetime 2022» is an installation that centers around the forty bottles of blueberry wine that was made from the Bingsjö berries, and the celebration of drinking it after it being stored for almost two years. It is a ritualistic gathering set in a setting composed of sculptures, furniture, objects and sound, but where the collective experience and happenings hold an equally important role. Anchored in rurality, «Bingsjö Spacetime 2022» invites its participants to be part of a conceptual journey exploring time travel and the representation of locality through a fermented liquid.
